Athletic Department Photography Policy
Christopher Newport University’s Athletic Department reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to withhold and/or withdraw permission to photograph on its premises or to reproduce photographs of athletic events and its student/athletes. Policies have been outlined below to provide further information on how to gain necessary approvals for various photography needs.
Visitor Photography Policy
In accordance with NCAA policy, still photography is permitted for private, noncommercial use only. Photographs of CNU student/athletes cannot be published, sold, reproduced, transferred, distributed, or otherwise commercially exploited in any manner whatsoever. Personal video cameras are permitted and use is subject to the same terms listed above.
Press Photography Policy
Subject to prior approval, members of the press may photograph or film within designated areas of athletic facilities for the purpose of news coverage that includes CNU athletics as the subject. All members of the press must gain proper credentials by contacting the Athletic Communications Office at Christopher Newport University (757-594-7382) prior to the event. Please try to request credentials at least 24 hours in advance to ensure availability.
